How to Make an
Appointment for Medication Management Services

Medication can be an important tool in your mental health care, but the research shows that it is most effective when combined with therapeutic or counseling support. For this reason, if you have not been referred to us by a therapist, a doctor, or other health care provider, we require an initial appointment with one of the licensed psychologists or
therapists in the practice before meeting with the prescriber.

How to Get Started

1. Schedule an Assessment Appointment: Contact our office at 412-663-0062 to set up an initial appointment for a pre-medication services evaluation.

2. Collaborative Assessment: During this appointment, your provider will carefully listen to your needs and determine if you would benefit from services at our office and level of care.

3. Referral to prescriber: If so, your provider will coordinate a timely referral to the psychiatric nurse practitioner for further evaluation and care.

4. What to Expect Next: Once referred, our psychiatric nurse practitioner will meet with you to discuss medication options, explain potential benefits and side effects, and develop a treatment plan tailored to your needs.
